Brief job description:
Estio Training have an exciting new opportunity for a Software Test Engineer with Adder Technology Ltd a technology company based in Cambridge.
We are looking for Engineering Apprentices who have an enthusiasm and genuine passion for Computing and Technology.
This apprenticeship will allow you to test our exciting remote connectivity product and learn about our range of technologies including 4K video, IP networking, embedded and web APIs.
We are a small, flexible, dynamic team who are passionate about the technology and the products that we produce that make a substantial difference to everyday workings of many worldwide companies.
Your duties and responsibilities in this role will consist of:
During your apprenticeship you will predominantly be testing our new and exciting products, raising any issues you see, presenting solutions and implementing improvements, and workarounds.
You will have the chance to learn more about our wider software development process, coding languages, and product development.
This is a full-time position supported by the rest of the software test team with an expectation that you will successfully complete the relevant Level 4 software test apprentice course 15 months duration
- 5 GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent (including English Language and Maths)
You’ll be able to demonstrate your passion for computer technologies. This may be through hobbies or work experience.
The successful applicant will have a strong desire to learn, good attention to detail, be organised and able to report progress clearly and concisely. Good communication and team working skills are essential.
The role offers long term security and the opportunity to progress into a permanent position.
Training to be provided:
Estio apprenticeship training programmes are delivered virtually by our fully qualified and industry experienced training team. Using their expert knowledge, we’ve purposefully built our programmes around the real-world use of modern technology, so that the skills we create can be directly applied in the workplace.
Throughout the apprenticeship learners receive coaching, help and guidance from a dedicated team who are there to ensure they get the most from their work experience.
Successful completion of this apprenticeship gives you an accredited Level 4 Software Tester, with training in how to:
- Ensure that the software used within your business operates as intended.
- Design and prepare test plans and conduct software testing as appropriate to ensure your software is fit for purpose.
- Collect and interpret the results of testing and make appropriate recommendations.
- Understand the software lifecycle and apply software development practices.
- Document and report test results.
- Store, manage and share test data in a secure manner.
