Brief job description:

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our Early Careers programme, working closely with a variety of experienced Data and Analytics professionals, with exposure across other areas of the group.

This position will provide an opportunity to join a growing and busy business, learning ‘on-the-job’ in a dynamic and collaborative environment whilst studying for an industry recognised qualification.

Your duties and responsibilities in this role will consist of:

  • Collecting and compiling data from different sources.
  • Performing database queries, both routine and ad-hoc, extracting data for analysis.
  • Assisting with the production of a range of ad-hoc and standard data analysis reports.
  • Assisting in the production of performance dashboards and reports.
  • Assisting with data quality checking and cleansing.
  • Extracting and manipulating data from multiple existing data sources (including unfamiliar sources) to enable complex new analysis and help others do so.
  • Gathering new data or combining existing data sources.
  • Exploring and sharing innovative data visualisation and presentation techniques to communicate data findings to users. Helping others understand the advantages and disadvantages of different ways of presenting data.

Qualifications:

5 GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent (including English Language and Maths)

At least grades 9-4/A*-C, in GCSE English and Maths Level 3 qualifications such as A Levels, NVQ or BTEC

Skills Required:

  • Experience of statistical.
  • PC literate with experience in the use of coding languages (namely Python, SAS), statistical packages and Office tools.
  • Knowledge of external data and value-added products. Understanding of how these are used within a client environment (not essential).
  • Complex problem solving skills.
  • Creativity and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills.

Future prospects:

The role offers a permanent role upon completion of the apprenticeship depending on performance.

Training to be provided:

Estio apprenticeship training programmes are delivered virtually by our fully qualified and industry experienced training team. Throughout the apprenticeship learners receive coaching, help and guidance from a dedicated team who are there to ensure they get the most from their work experience.

Successful completion of this apprenticeship gives you an accredited Level 4 Data Analyst, with training in how to:

  • Ascertain how data can be used to answer questions and solve problems.
  • Gather, inspect, cleanse, transform and model data to identify patterns and trends.
  • Present data and produce dashboards and reports to aid visualization and comparison.
  • Use advanced theory and diverse techniques to harness greater understanding.
  • Inform decision-making and make recommendations using an evidence-based approach.
  • Ensure your business processes and procedures are compliant with data protection legislation.
