We are a not-for-profit organisation that operates several competent persons schemes for industries including air tightness testing, sound insulation testing and fire door testing. We operate worldwide with members in the UK, Europe, UAE, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand.

We have a relaxed but dedicated work ethos. Working location & times are flexible however we expect most of your work will be conducted from our Leeds office and during standard office hours.

Job Description:

This position is the ideal opportunity for an aspiring Software Developer to join a growing team as they embark on several projects. You will work closely with the Lead Developer and wider development team. Projects will be varied but all within the context of improving online services and mobile applications for our members who test within the building compliance industry and software solutions for our staff’s administrative use.

Brief Job Description:

Estio Training have an exciting new opportunity for a junior developer to join ATTMA’s growing software team.

Your duties and responsibilities in this role will consist of:

  • Assisting the lead developer in creating innovative and well thought out software solutions.
  • Speaking to staff and members to record requirements.
  • As a team, design solutions to best achieve these requirements.
  • Assist in building these solutions via coding and database setups.
  • Assist in the implementation of these software solutions.
  • Continue to maintain and improve implemented.

Qualifications:

  • 5 GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent (including English Language and Maths)

Personal Qualities:

  • Ability to work well in a team and contribute positively to team goals.
  • Logical thinker who is quick to pick up new skills.
  • A team player and have a strong customer focus.
  • Thinking ‘outside the box’ will be very much welcomed.

Desired Skills:

  • Programming knowledge and/or experience required, ideally in ASP.NET and SQL development.
  • Any knowledge of mobile solutions using the B4A and B4i technologies is an advantage.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Future Prospects:

The role offers the opportunity to progress into a long term contract or permanent position.

Training to be provided:

The Estio Training programme gives young people the opportunity to get hands on experience in the IT industry whilst still employed in a real paid job with no cost or debt.

Learners will receive ten weeks of intensive training. Whilst in the workplace, apprentices will also receive continual assessment, and help and guidance from a dedicated trainer who will be there to ensure that they get the most from their work experience.

This apprenticeship will give you a Level 4 Software Developer Standard with training in areas such as:

  • Functional skills, Maths L2 and English L2
  • Creative Problem Solving
  • Software Development Methodologies
  • Human Computer Interaction
  • Software Testing Fundamentals
  • Software Language
  • Developing Software using SQL

Some of these modules will include an option to take an examination in order to receive a professional certificate.
