Brief job description:

Theravada Solutions, a digital and technology specialist in the retail and hospitality sector, is seeking an Apprentice. The successful candidate will be mentored by one of our Senior Engineers, who is based in Sheffield. The role is field based and would require working away from home fairly frequently.

Job Description:

Onsite installation of network equipment, POS, CCTV and digital signage. Assemble, configure and install hardware (POS registers, servers, back-office desktops, instore kiosks and mobile devices). Management of stock and equipment. Support for weekly project status reports and completion documentation to customers based on scope of work. Adhere to housekeeping/health and safety standards to ensure a safe working environment is maintained.

Your duties and responsibilities in this role will consist of:

  • Onsite installation of network equipment, POS, CCTV and digital signage.
  • Assemble, configure and install hardware (POS registers, servers, back-office desktops, instore kiosks and mobile devices).
  • Management of stock and equipment.
  • Support for weekly project status reports and completion documentation to customers based on scope of work.
  • Adhere to housekeeping/health and safety standards to ensure a safe working environment is maintained.

Qualifications:

5 GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent (including English Language and Maths)

Skills Required:

  • Achieved a C level or above in GCSE Maths, English and Science.
  • Computer literate with a good knowledge of current IT trends.
  • Must possess a full UK driving licence and own transport.

Personal qualities:

  • Positive attitude with a ‘can do’ approach.
  • Ability to remain calm in a fast paced and pressured environment.
  • Reliable, good work ethic and willingness to learn.
  • Flexibility in working hours and locations.
  • Confident and professional manner, excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Future prospects:

The role offers a permanent role upon completion of the apprenticeship depending on performance.

Training to be provided:

Successful completion of this apprenticeship gives you an accredited Level 3 Information Communications Technician, with training in how to:

  • Efficiently operate and control your ICT infrastructure – physical or virtual hardware, software, network services and data storage.
  • Use infrastructure management tools to automate the provisioning, testing, deployment and monitoring of infrastructure components.
  • Prioritise systems support tasks and monitor and maintaining system performance
  • Maintain regulatory, legal and professional standards.
  • Support the information systems needs for your business.
