Brief job description:
Estio Training have an exciting new opportunity for an apprentice technical engineer with IT Genie, a managed IT services & cloud computing business based in Crawley.
Job Description:
Engineers will work closely with other team members to deliver an outstanding level of service to our customers. You will manage effective resolution of support issues that are reported to the helpdesk in an efficient manner. The companies’ vision is to nurture a team of ambitious, disciplined and inspiring people dedicated to building a world class company and sharing in its continuing success.
Your duties and responsibilities in this role will consist of:
- Answering the telephone and logging calls
- Providing 1st line technical troubleshooting steps
- Escalating more technical issues with clear notes to senior engineers
- Ensuring that documentation and tickets notes are kept up to date
- Communicating effectively with customers, team members and third parties
Qualifications:
- 5 GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent (including English Language and Maths)
Skills Required/Desirables:
- Have dealt with self-builds, troubleshooting, solutions in spare time.
- Knowledge of Windows environment
- Knowledge of Office 365
- Experience of building Windows Laptops and PCs
- Working knowledge of troubleshooting PC and Laptop performance issues
- Basic Windows Server administration
- Knowledge of TCP/IP
- Understanding VoIP technologies

- Tenacity and dedication to pursue an issue from beginning to end
- Ability to multi-task, prioritise and escalate accordingly

- Ability to produce, clear, concise and accurate documentation and ticket notes
- Natural interest in IT with a desire to stay abreast of new technologies

- Efficiently operate and control your ICT infrastructure – physical or virtual hardware, software, network services and data storage.
- Use infrastructure management tools to automate the provisioning, testing, deployment and monitoring of infrastructure components.
- Prioritise systems support tasks and monitor and maintaining system performance
- Maintain regulatory, legal and professional standards.
- Support the information systems needs for your business.
