Brief job description:
Estio Training have an exciting new opportunity for a Data Technician with Vetasi, an Asset Management company based in Bristol.
Job Description:
Vetasi has requirements for Trainee Maximo Data Consultants to work as a consulting services team member on core Maximo product installations, upgrades, troubleshooting or other projects as assigned.
The role will be primarily home based – there will be some travel required to either internal Vetasi meetings in the Bristol area and client sites throughout the UK.
Your duties and responsibilities in this role will consist of:
- Assist in the analysis of data used in the source systems
- Design the mapping between source and target systems
- Creates SQL scripts or uses other database tools to migrate / transform the data
- Completes all documentation
- Follows defined processes, methodologies and procedures
Qualifications:
- 5 GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent (including English Language and Maths)
Skills Required:
The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of database structures and technology. It will also be beneficial if the prospective candidate had knowledge / experience of one or more of the following technical areas.
- One or more of the following database platforms Oracle, DB2 or SQLserver
- UNIX based operating systems, including at least one of the following: Sun Solaris, HP-UX, IBM AIX, Linux
- Good experience of creating SQL queries and scripts
- Understanding of network operating systems, especially Windows 2000/2003 Server
- Knowledge of Windows Terminal Server & Citrix Metaframe technology
- Strong understanding of networking, especially TCP/IP
- Knowledge of internet and firewall technologies
Personal qualities:
- Demonstrated history of achievement in academics, internships, and/or relevant work experience
- Ability to thrive in a team atmosphere, making individual contributions to challenging projects
- Excellent analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills to work as a team member and as a liaison with customers
- College Degree or equivalent experience
- Microsoft, Oracle or Unix Certification a plus
- Additional training will be provided to fulfil the basic responsibilities of the job.

- Identify the right data sources for your business to inform decision making.
- Collect, compile and cleanse data accurately and securely.
- Identify, anaylse and interpret data, trends and patterns.
- Produce dashboards and reports to aid visualization and comparison.
- Summarise and present the results of data analysis, making recommendations for business improvement.
- Store and archive data in line with data protection legislation.
