Apprenticeship courses are not free, but there are a few funding options for employers who are considering employing an apprentice or sending their staff onto an apprenticeship programme. Similarly, for prospective learners wishing to undergo an apprenticeship, funding will be covered by the employer who hires them, and not by the learner themselves. Apprentice courses are for anybody looking to break into a new career path without studying for traditional qualifications, such as a university degree. Taking apprenticeship courses can be ideal if you are looking to break into a career where practical training is particularly useful, as they involve work experience within your desired line of work. There are no legal age limits on apprentice courses but most are aimed at learners between the ages of 16 and 25.

For lower-level apprenticeship courses, you don't require any qualifications. Here at Estio, we offer apprenticeships beginning at Level 3, which will require you to have a few GCSEs prior to beginning. A Level 4 apprenticeships is equivalent to the first year of a foundation degree, so you may require some A levels.
