Weekly Hours Worked – Monday to Friday – 37.5hrs. Hybrid Working will be available.

Salary – £17,000 per annum

Brief job description:

As an apprentice Technical Support Specialist you’ll have a busy, but varied workload providing technical and IT support to the business. You will take on IT support tasks, including troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving software, hardware, and network problems users encounter.

Your duties and responsibilities in this role will consist of:

  • Supporting and in time, or where possible take the lead on IT support issues across the business.
  • Repair computer/printing hardware.
  • Remote support of computer/printing hardware and software.
  • Supporting IT projects as required as part of a small team.
  • Develop strong working relationships with staff across the business.
  • All training and support to become a fully qualified Technical Support Engineer.

Qualifications:

  • 5 GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent (including English Language and Maths)

Skills Required:

  • Have a strong interest in IT.
  • Be keen to learn new skills and achieve good/passing results within any training or academic studies as part of the apprenticeship scheme.
  • Be able to quickly pick up new skills and work to strict timescales when required.
  • Possess a keen eye for detail.
  • Show strong interpersonal skills and comfortable interacting with staff across the business at all levels.
  • Possess a “Can do” attitude and take ownership of tasks, issues and resolutions.
  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a small team.
  • Communication skills.
  • Attention to Detail.
  • Organisation skills.

Training to be provided:

Successful completion of this apprenticeship gives you an accredited Level 3 Information Communications Technician, with training in how to:

  • Efficiently operate and control your ICT infrastructure – physical or virtual hardware, software, network services and data storage.
  • Use infrastructure management tools to automate the provisioning, testing, deployment and monitoring of infrastructure components.
  • Prioritise systems support tasks and monitor and maintaining system performance.
  • Maintain regulatory, legal and professional standards.
  • Support the information systems needs for your business.
