Job Description:
Opportunity for a full time IT Apprentice to join an established global manufacturing company based in Basildon. Working Hours are Monday to Friday 08.00 – 17.00.
Role Summary:
Full training and support will be provided by our IT Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking to pursue a career in IT and gain a recognised qualification via an Apprenticeship.
Key Responsibilities:
As an IT Apprentice your main roles and responsibilities will include:
- Assist in troubleshooting hardware, software and network issues.
- Provide first-line IT support to staff and ensure all IT systems comply with GDPR requirements.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer systems and software.
- Supporting the secure processing of personal data and handling of data subject requests.
- Helping to ensure that staff are following data protection best practices, including safe storage and transmission of personal data.
- Assisting with security measures to protect against data breaches and reporting any potential data protection issues.
- Document support requests using the existing ticketing system to ensure effective tracking and resolution.
- Assist with setting up new user accounts and managing IT access.
- Creating and maintaining SharePoint folders and manage access.
- Provide training and guidance to users on various software applications, including Microsoft Office.
- Conduct regular maintenance checks on computer hardware to ensure optimal performance.
- Assist with office moves including network connectivity and cabling.
- Gather quotes for new software.
- Ordering of various equipment and accessories, including printer supplies.
- Asset tagging and inventory management of IT equipment (laptops, desktops, printers, etc).
- Documenting and tracking used port numbers and device configurations.
- Assist in troubleshooting hardware, software and network issues.
- Provide first-line IT support to staff and ensure all IT systems comply with GDPR requirements.
- General support to IT Manager.
Qualifications:
- Educational Requirements: Grade 4/5 or above in English & Maths GCSE
Skills Required & Personal Qualities:
- A passion for IT and technology and keen to pursue a career in this field.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Basic understanding of computer systems, networks, and troubleshooting.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and develop new technical skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.

- Prioritise systems support tasks and monitor and maintaining system performance
