Job Description:

Estio Training is thrilled to offer a new opportunity for an IT Support Apprentice at Symetri.

Role Summary:

The role involves working under the guidance of experienced IT professionals to provide frontline technical support and assistance to our customers end users, troubleshooting IT issues and contributing to the efficient operation of our IT Service Desk.

Key Responsibilities:

As an IT Support Apprentice, you will:

  • Be the first point of contact for customers, providing first-line support and assistance.
  • Log, track and prioritise support cases on our Service Desk System, ensuring processes are followed.
  • Assist users with basic IT tasks, such as password resets, software installations and accounts setup.
  • Communicating effectively with users and stakeholders to provide status updates, gathering requirements and addressing concerns.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Requirements: 5 GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent, including English Language and Maths.

Skills Required:

  • Basic IT Knowledge, and an interest in and basic understanding of IT concepts, hardware, software and networking fundamentals.
  • Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills to interact effectively with customers end users and to provide a quality support experience.
  • Ability to learn quickly, and adapt to new technologies, tools and systems with a passion for troubleshooting technical issues and finding solutions.

Personal Qualities:

  • Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks, manage workloads efficiently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work well individually and in a team environment, collaborating with colleagues and contributing to a positive and supportive work culture.
  • Keen attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation, through troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues.

Future Prospects:

This role offers the potential for a permanent position upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, contingent on performance.

Successful completion of this apprenticeship gives you an accredited Level 3 Information Communications Technician, with training in how to:

  • Efficiently operate and control your ICT infrastructure – physical or virtual hardware, software, network services and data storage.
  • Use infrastructure management tools to automate the provisioning, testing, deployment and monitoring of infrastructure components.
  • Prioritise systems support tasks and monitor and maintaining system performance
  • Maintain regulatory, legal and professional standards.
  • Support the information systems needs for your business.
