Job Description:
Estio Training is thrilled to offer a new opportunity for an IT Apprentice at a Primary School based in Bradford, West Yorkshire.
Role Summary:
- Ensure the school website is developed and utilised to its full potential and kept up to date.
- Maintenance of computing equipment throughout the school.
- Utilising the school’s social media channels to its full potential and keeping them up to date with relevant content.
- Work as part of a team with school colleagues and contractors to deliver educational learning for pupils through a child centred approach.
Key Responsibilities:
As an IT Apprentice your main roles and responsibilities will include:
- Daily/weekly equipment checks and maintenance (as per summary document attached)
- To work with staff to capture learning and events throughout the school and ensure the school website updated on a daily basis to showcase work taking place in class activities, clubs, trips, sporting events.
- To develop and maintain a school’s social media accounts.
- To recommend and implement changes to the website and social media accounts to keep it interesting.
- To recommend and establish channels to ensure the website is used by more Brackenhill pupils and their families.
- To ensure that policies and other critical documents are available on the website in a very timely manner.
- To assist with the upkeep of the school IT inventory, conduct daily/weekly/monthly audits.
- To provide support to staff for queries relating to software and hardware.
- To assist with the purchase, setting up, arrange maintenance of printers, computers/related equipment.
- To install and configure software applications.
- To help produce and maintain I.T asset register, reports, checklists and other documentation as necessary for the school. (audit reports, app usage, asset management plan).
- To help maintain appropriate stock levels of computer consumables and accessories and to raise purchase orders as necessary ensuring that value for money is obtained. (e.g. printer cartridges, toners etc) and keep stock in school. Liaise with third party contractors as appropriate.
- To maintain satisfactory standards of safety and security in relation to computer rooms and equipment.
- To work towards and complete an NVQ Level 3 for IT Professionals.
- To be aware of and abide by the school safeguarding policy, health and safety procedures and other associated polices.
- To undertake any other relevant duties as may reasonably be requested by the Headteacher and SLT. (such as ad hoc projects).
- Willing to undertake Fire Warden and First Aid training if required by School.
- Willing to undertake lunchtime cover, supporting pupils through a child centred approach.
- Undertake training/project work off site (if required for course requirements) in company with our specified IT Provider.

Qualifications:
- Educational Requirements: Grade 4 or above GCSE Maths and English.
Skills Required:
- Fluency and working knowledge of Microsoft office programmes (Word/Excel/PowerPoint etc)
- Fluency and working knowledge of Google and google classrooms
- Timekeeping and self-organisation
Personal Qualities:
- Child centred approach in your work and manner
- Willingness to work as part of a team
