The role is hybrid with Wednesdays working from home. Candidates must be able to commute to Crossgate’s for the other four days.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Write efficient and maintainable code using best practices for website development, in line with company coding standards.
• Work with other programmers and designers to create websites which match the agreed client expectations.
• Communicate with colleagues to gather and refine requirements while delivering projects within agreed timelines.
• Have a proactive attitude to research and documentation to gain the knowledge to complete a task.
• Create and maintain documentation for developed solutions.
• Improve and maintain existing projects.

Skills required:

• Willingness to learn existing and new technologies
• And good knowledge and understanding of PHP, SQL, Javascript, HTML and CSS
• Can analyse a technical problem and propose a solution

Personal qualities:

– Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for effectively collaborating with team members, conveying ideas, and articulating technical concepts.

Minimum qualifications required:

GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent (including English Language and Maths)

• Create logical and maintainable codes for software development.
• Apply security best practice to the software solution throughout the software development life cycle.
• Apply appropriate recovery techniques to ensure the software solution being developed is not lost.
• Implement accurate and effective change control.
• Undertake unit testing of solutions, with appropriate levels of test code coverage, to identify and resolve issues.
• Apply suitable ‘bug fixes’ based on severity and priority.
