Apprenticeship FAQs

Where do I go if I have a personal problem or issue that will affect my apprenticeship?

If you have an issue that requires some pastoral care (for example the movement of a deadline, rescheduling training because of the issue, etc), you can contact your Progress Management C0-0rdinator who will be assigned to support you throughout your apprenticeship programme.

However, for any issues relating directly to your health or wellbeing, equality and diversity concerns or Prevent based concerns, you can contact your local safeguarding officer by telephone (signposted within the reviews and your digital handbook) or by emailing safeguarding@estio.co.uk.

How much of my time will be spent training?

It depends on which apprenticeship you’re on, as all of our programmes differ in length and module content.

It is required that all learners spend a minimum of 20% of their time on the programme in off-the-job (OTJ) training. This can come in the form of attending training at Estio, shadowing others at work, learning at work through videos, spending time on the VLE, or revising. You can document your OTJ training on your e-portfolio which will enable you to calculate if you have reached 20% or need to spend more time training.

Why do I have to do BKSB initial assessments?

We use BKSB tests to determine your current level of knowledge, to assess if you need further support with English and Maths.

All learners who come on the program with Estio must be working at level 2 in English and maths. Even if you have passed your GSCEs, we need to see what level you are currently working at.

When will I get my training schedule?

You will receive your training schedule within one working week from booking the induction.

What if I don’t have my GCSE certificates?

If you do not have GCSEs in Maths and/or English at C grade or above or cannot find evidence, we can check the learner record services and see if there is a prior learning record available for you.

If we can not find any evidence of your prior learning record, we will put you through Functional Skills training.

What do I need to bring with me to my induction?

Please bring a form of identification (such as a passport, or drivers licence) and any GCSE certificates you have.
