Euan Crawford is a 1st Line IT Analyst at Rodericks Dental Ltd, based in Northampton, who recently achieved a Distinction in his Level 3 Infrastructure Technician apprenticeship.

Euan had originally started his apprenticeship with another provider, but after his previous provider was closed down by the ESFA he moved to Estio.

What made you decide to use an apprenticeship to upskill?

It was an entry/foot into the door into the IT industry.

Why did you choose Estio?

When my previous provider went down, Estio picked me up and helped me pass. I am sure that my previous provider wouldn’t have been able to get me through the apprenticeship, let alone with a high grade.

How has the apprenticeship benefitted you?

It got me a job with Rodericks and the skills needed to progress within the industry.

What new technical skills has the apprenticeship given you?

It’s given me the confidence and skills needed to jump into any IT job with an open mind and the ability to complete the job.

Have you felt well supported by your Skills Coach/Trainer?

Like I said, if it wasn’t for Estio, I wouldn’t have passed let alone got a distinction. This was all down to Mo Riaz, my Skills Coach. He helped guide me to complete my apprenticeship and pushed me when I needed it.

If you were to recommend Estio to a colleague or another company in one sentence, what would you say?

Estio stick to their word and care more about the student than anything else. This reflects in a positive way and shows they care about their learners.
